Puhos Acquires Tiwi's Keuruu Business from Finnforest   07.03.06

Puhos Board Oy and Finnforest Corporation signed an agreement on 1st March 2006, by which Puhos Board Oy will acquire all of the business operations of Tiwi in Keuruu. At the same time Finnforest Oyj will become a minority shareholder of Puhos Board Oy with a 13 per cent holding.

Tiwi's operations will now form a business unit of Puhos Board Oy. Matti Hasanen will continue as business unit manager of Tiwi while marketing manager Ari Honkonen will be responsible for sales and marketing. Puhos Board will take over all Tiwi employees.

Puhos Board Oy is a part of the Isku group and is the leading chipboard manufacturer in the Nordic countries. Turnover in 2005 was 74million euros with export and other international activities accounting for over 70 per cent. This agreement increases the size of the business significantly. Employees will now number 85 at Puhos, 87 at Keuruu and five in the UK. Estimated turnover for 2006 is 100million euros.
