New Dek Shield Flooring for Interior or Exterior Protection 15th June 2007
Puhos Dek Shield is a new innovative flooring solution for housebuilders designed for both interior and exterior use as well as forming part of complete ground and apartment floor system.
Dek Shield combines a permanent waterproof surface and effective slip resistance with the highest quality raw material substrate. External fixing uses a Weather Dek Fast Fix bonding kit and new Puhos D4 PVA adhesive for edge sealing. A superb finish is assured with easy surface cleaning of site spoil on project completion. The watertight surface also gives added protection against leaks and spills during the life time of the building.
Used internally, as part of a floating or joisted floor, Dek Shield prevents moisture ingress from wet trades, helps keep floors flat and is an ideal substrate for the direct application of most floor tiles and finishes. Dek Shield supersedes the highly successful Puhos Protectafloor product, is BBA certified and fully covered by a BM TRADA environmental chain of custody.
Externally, Dek Shield flooring can be left safely exposed for up to 42 days, using a P5 substrate, or longer if a higher specification baseboard is selected. For use in dry conditions, boards are supplied with special PVA D4 adhesive to seal the edges. Where adverse weather is likely within two hours of fixing, the proven precaution of Weather Dek edge tape can be appliedwhile curing.
