New Fast-Fix Option Eliminates Noisy Floor Decks 09.09.03 A new fast-fix version of the market leading Weather Dek2 flooring system for housebuilders is the latest development from Puhoswood Limited. It combines engineered wood floor beams with high quality, film protected chipboard panels to provide cost effective, temporary weather protection for floors during construction. Weather Dek2 Fast-Fix will appeal to high volume housebuilders seeking a purpose designed fast installation floor system, supplied in house sets, complete with fixing accessory kit. The system incorporates all the advantages which have helped Weather Dek2 achieve over 30 per cent of the new build market. These include full temporary weather protection and a platform floor, prior to roof construction which allows other trades to work safely beneath. This can save up to three working days per unit and provide a pristine floor finish on completion. Importantly, correct installation of the new Weather Dek2 Fast-Fix system can result in the virtual elimination of squeaking floor decks. The system combines engineered floor beams with high quality P5 tongued and grooved chipboard panels with a purpose designed heavy duty surface film. This is fully waterproof yet peels off easily when construction is complete. The Fast-Fix element of this new Weather Dek2 option is achieved through use of a high performance bonding adhesive, applied using an application gun. The adhesive has been specially developed for use with the system and almost eliminates the need for nailing. The special adhesive bonds the panels to the engineered wood floor beams.
