New from Puhoswood Limited is a high strength, weather protected plywood flooring option. This builds on the company’s market leading Weather Dek2 flooring brand which pioneered laying weather protected upper floors, prior to roof construction, in the housebuilding market. Weather Ply maximises the high performance characteristics of spruce plywood in strength, durability and moisture resistance. Weather Ply flooring panels also provide good acoustic insulation, superior fire resistance and enhanced loading specifications. The primary applications are for kitchen and bathroom areas where maximum protection and performance is required, particularly to meet the high durability standards required in public sector projects. Indeed, plywood flooring is also regularly used in commercial and light industrial applications. Weather Ply panels are tongued and grooved on all four edges providing a flush fit when used in combination with the Weather Dek or Dek Shield particle board flooring which may be in use throughout the premises. Utilising high quality WISA spruce flooring panels from Finland, the protective film is bonded to the panels using the same technique proven in manufacturing Weather Dek2. The specially sourced heavy duty film has the high strength properties essential to provide protection throughout the construction process and an effective slip resistant surface. Installation mirrors the Weather Dek2 fixing process using specially supplied edging tape to ensure a complete waterproof envelope during construction. When complete, the film is peeled away to reveal a pristine spruce floor finish. Standard panel sizes are 2400 x 600mm and thicknesses are 18mm (7 ply) or 22mm (9ply).
