New high grade floor system extends weather protection 17.04.03 A new, high performance addition to the Weather Dek2 range of flooring systems for housebuilders, from Puhoswood Limited, could double the systems timeframe for full temporary weather protection. New Weather Dek2 Elite uses a high performance P7 baseboard, with a higher resin content, to extend the period during which flooring can be exposed to adverse weather conditions up to eight weeks. The system is designed for social housing projects, apartments and terraced developments where the need for a longer exposure period arises. Weather Dek2 is already used in over thirty per cent of all new homes, providing full temporary weather protection and a platform floor, prior to roof construction. This allows other trades to work safely and can save up to three working days per unit. In the three years since Puhos pioneered this concept product development has been continuous, creating a unique service package geared to housebuilders specific requirements. The core of the system is the combination of Weather Dek2 flooring panels and new generation engineered floor beams. The high quality chipboard panels are tongued and grooved on all four sides for fast, accurate installation. A specially
developed surface film is some 40 per cent stronger than conventional
film. It provides extremely high durability during construction yet is
quick and easy to peel off. This is bonded to the panels using an exclusive
sealant adhesive providing extra weather protection, even against film
damage. Andy Moore, managing director of Puhoswood Limited says new Weather Dek2 Elite is another example of the companys focus on adding value to the core product. House builders, and our distributor partners, recognise value not only as a competitive price but a benefits led product and service package. Weather Deks success has been built on its exclusive benefits, says Moore, and we will continue working with customers to develop, refine, and deliver ever improving benefits for professionals in the industry and their end user customers. The Weather Dek2 Elite flooring system conforms to all relevant European standards and has third party certification. Standard size panels are 2400 x 600mm with thicknesses of 18, 19 or a 22mm depth which complies fully with new acoustic regulations Part E 2003. Availability is nationwide through Puhos appointed distributors. Further information from: |
