Elite Performance for Weather Dek2 26.04.05 Latest addition to the Weather Dek2® range of flooring systems from Puhoswood Limited is the Elite Fast-Fix package. This combines all the proven characteristics of the Weather Dek2 concept with a high performance P7 baseboard. This extends effective weather protection and is especially suited to social housing projects, apartments and terraced developments where longer exposure is likely. Puhos Weather Dek2 is now extensively used by four of the top five UK house builders and commands over 35 per cent of the total new build market. Weather Dek2 combines extremely high quality chipboard panels with a specially developed surface film which is bonded to the baseboard. This provides full temporary weather protection prior to roof construction and can be used over engineered I -beams. On completion, the film peels off to reveal a pristine floor finish. House builders report saving up to three days per unit in construction time using this system which is fully BBA approved. Weather Dek2 Elite Fast-Fix differs from the standard system, where mechanical fixings are combined with exterior PVA Type 3 adhesive and heavy duty edge tape, by minimising the need for mechanical fixings. This advanced system which speeds the floor laying process even more, uses a specially developed, high performance bonding adhesive, applied using an application gun. This bonds the panels direct on to engineered beams and requires only secret nailing through the tongue of the panel for positioning and additional security. The process also effectively eliminates squeaky floors. As with all Weather Dek 2 products, full weather protection and floor performance is achieved through use of the highest quality materials, both for the panels and fixing accessories, combined with strict adherence to simple but essential fixing instructions. For example all panel joints and edges must be taped to prevent moisture ingress which could otherwise result in swollen boards. Only Weather Dek branded adhesives are proven to provide both a secure fixing and the crucial flexibility needed for expansion joints in the completed floor. This adhesive also contributes to a ?best in class? sound insulation performance, exceeding the requirements of new Part E regulations. Further information from: |
